A Rebel's Song
To Jean Somerville, life on her parents' plantation feels like being trapped in a golden cage, and she longs to break out. Suppressed by her overbearing mother and the rules of society she is forced to abide by, she runs away from home and embarks on a turbulent journey that takes her from Mississippi to the plains of Nebraska, sacred home to the tribe of the Lakota.
In this wild and rough country, Jean learns what it means to be free, and she will end up fighting for independence at a higher stake than she ever imagined.
